Mechanical properties and load capacities

HMR 750 Tension Rod Systems are available in fourteen different thread sizes from M12 to M100.

The round bar is supplied as standard in our high-strength material HMR 750 with a length of up to 11.80 m.
This is characterised by very high load capacities.
We are therefore able to offer smaller and cheaper thread sizes than standard grades S460 or S520 allow.

Long lasting corrosion protection

HMR Thread Protection

The threads of the Tension Rod Systems often represent a weak point in corrosion protection.

We have developed a special method that allows us to efficiently coat the threads with zinc during automated production.

This unique procedure, which does not require any additional work such as recutting or brushing, corresponds to hot-dip galvanising in accordance with corrosion category C3 with high durability.
In conjunction with our own HMR sealant, thread protection up to corrosion category C5 can even be achieved.

Surface finish

We offer the HMR750 Tension Rod System in all thread sizes with the following surfaces:

  • in carbon steel version (black) -
    All fittings are supplied hot-dip galvanised in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461
  • in hot-dip galvanised according to DIN EN ISO 1461, in accordance with corrosion category* C3 high
  • with powder coating up to corrosion category* C4 high
  • with wet paint up to corrosion category* C5 high; ZTV-Ing compliant if required
  • with duplex coating up to corrosion category* C4 high
  • with primer or as preparation for on-site fire protection coatings
    * Corrosion protection classes according to DIN EN ISO 12944

 

Fire protection:
There is no appropriate, approved solution for Tension Rods when designing in the event of a fire. For this reason, we developed our own tables for oversizing together with the relevant technical authorities.

European Technical Assessment - ETA

The HMR 750 Tension Rod System is approved in diameters M12-M100 by the German Institute for Structural Engineering under number ETA-18/0104.
